Nebraska Abortion Resources (NEAR) is Nebraskas only statewide abortion fund, dedicated to breaking down barriers to abortion access and ensuring everyone has the resources and support they need to navigate care with clarity and autonomy.

Through direct healthcare funding, information sharing, and community solidarity, we work to make equitable abortion access a lived reality for all, regardless of their background or circumstances.

We believe abortion is essential healthcare and a fundamental human right. Guided by values of autonomy, equity, and reproductive justice, we work within our communities to challenge systemic oppression, amplify voices, and create localized networks of knowledge. Together, we’re building a Nebraska where access to abortion care is accessible, affirmed, and preserved.

Funding abortion

Reproductive healthcare, including abortion, should never be limited by financial means. Our direct healthcare funding strategy removes barriers by covering costs for abortion procedures and related expenses like travel, lodging, childcare, and meals. Because of our low overhead costs and commitment to fully funding every caller, we are able to use donations in a direct and efficient way. By ensuring financial support is available, we help people access the care they need without delay. 

community solidarity

Our advocacy is primarily in community, not the legislature or the courts. We work within our networks to advance people, not policies. Our community solidarity strategy focuses on grassroots advocacy and collective care, ensuring people have the tools to connect, mobilize, and build networks of support. By prioritizing mutual aid and direct action, we strengthen access and empower communities to take care of each other.

Accurate information is key to making informed reproductive choices. Our information sharing strategy provides evidence-based resources on abortion access, legal rights, and support pathways so that everyone knows they have options. Through Speak E.C., we also ensure free emergency contraception and other essential supplies are easily accessible at local businesses and nonprofits—because knowledge and direct access go hand in hand.

Once you have your appointment, reach out to our intake partners at the Chicago Abortion Fund at (312) 663-0338. We provide financial assistance for abortion procedures and can help with additional costs like travel, lodging, meals, childcare, and transportation to and from your appointment. We’re here to help ensure that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of your care.

Available at select local businesses and nonprofits, Speak E.C. kits can be discreetly requested by tearing a tab from our poster and handing it to an employee. No paperwork, no barriers, just access when you need it. Whether you’re facing an urgent situation or planning ahead, we’re here to ensure you have the support and supplies you deserve—always free, always judgment-free, because access matters.
