We Take Care of Us!

We Take Care of Us!

who are we?

At Nebraska Abortion Resources (NEAR), we are committed to ensuring that everyone—regardless of their financial means, location, or background—has access to safe and timely abortion care. As Nebraska’s only statewide abortion fund, we believe reproductive healthcare is a fundamental human right, and we work tirelessly to remove the barriers that prevent people from exercising that right.

We understand that accessing abortion is not just about the procedure—it’s about overcoming financial, logistical, and emotional hurdles. That’s why we provide funding for abortion procedures as well as the practical support people need to get the care they deserve—whether that’s help with travel, lodging, meals, or childcare.

Our work doesn’t stop there. We’re deeply committed to providing accurate, stigma-free information across Nebraska, including rural communities. By partnering with local organizations, hosting events, and sharing resources, we empower Nebraskans to make informed reproductive decisions that align with their values, free from misinformation and shame.

We also believe that real change happens at the community level, which is why we prioritize community solidarity and grassroots organizing over chasing policy. While we continue to advocate for policies that protect abortion access, we place our efforts in building resilient communities that can support one another through these challenges. Together, we are creating a Nebraska where abortion care is accessible, celebrated, and supported.

Our work is guided by the values of autonomy, justice, and equity. We are committed to serving marginalized communities—including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, and rural populations—and we work in collaboration with others to create lasting, systemic change.

Whether you need support, want to volunteer, or are looking for ways to contribute, NEAR is here. We believe that no one should face barriers to accessing care, and together, we will continue to fight for a Nebraska where abortion is not just available, but accessible to all.
