we will never stop

We Believe…

We prioritize community-level support, practical solutions, and building resilient networks to navigate the shifting landscape of abortion access. Whether it’s through sharing accurate information, mobilizing volunteers, or fostering collective action, we believe in turning our values into action and empowering Nebraskans to care for themselves and each other. Together, we are creating a future where reproductive freedom is sustained through community and praxis.

Direct Funding

We believe abortion care is a fundamental human right—not a privilege reserved for those with financial means. Our Direct Healthcare Funding Strategy removes financial and logistical barriers, ensuring that anyone who needs an abortion can access care, regardless of income or location.

We provide funding for abortion procedures and cover essential costs like travel, lodging, transportation, food, childcare, and medication. These expenses can be overwhelming, especially for those traveling long distances or facing restrictive laws. Through partnerships with the Chicago Abortion Fund, we streamline the intake process, ensuring timely support for Nebraskans traveling out of state or those coming to Nebraska for care.

Abortion restrictions disproportionately affect marginalized communities—low-income individuals, rural residents, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals. By funding abortion and related costs, we empower people to make their own reproductive decisions without financial strain.

Our commitment is to dignity, autonomy, and justice. We are here to break down barriers and ensure that abortion access is a reality for everyone who needs it. If you need assistance, click here to learn how to get support.

information sharing

We know that accurate information and strong connections are essential to accessing abortion care and exercising reproductive autonomy. Our Community Information Sharing strategy centers on showing up for Nebraskans in ways that align with our values of empathy, inclusivity, and transparency.

We are committed to reaching every corner of Nebraska—from urban centers to rural communities—to ensure everyone has the knowledge they need to make informed decisions. We provide clear, evidence-based information about abortion access, legal considerations, and available support through local events, workshops, tabling, and outreach programs. We foster open conversations that dispel myths, reduce stigma, and help people understand their rights and options.

Our work is powered by collaboration. We proudly partner with organizations like I Be Black Girl, Chicago Abortion Fund, Iowa Abortion Access Fund, Planned Parenthood, and other community-led groups that share our commitment to reproductive justice and equity. These partnerships help us expand our reach, amplify diverse voices, and provide holistic support to those who need it.

By showing up in our communities and building strong networks of support, we create pathways to care that are resilient, responsive, and rooted in solidarity. At NEAR, we believe that sharing knowledge and resources is an act of advocacy—and we will never stop working to ensure that every Nebraskan knows how to take care of themselves and each other.

community solidarity

Our advocacy isn’t just about policy change—it’s about how we show up for each other every day. While legislative efforts have their place, we know that the most powerful forms of advocacy happen at the community level. That’s why we put praxis—the practice of turning values into action—at the heart of our work.

For us, advocacy means ensuring people have the knowledge, resources, and networks to take care of themselves and each other, especially as laws and policies change. We focus on practical, immediate support: making sure Nebraskans know how to access abortion, find allies, and navigate barriers with confidence. Our work empowers people to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures, no matter what restrictive measures politicians may impose.

We believe in the power of collective action. NEAR is stronger because of our community of volunteers who give their time, skills, and passion to keep our work going. Whether it’s through clinic escorting, packing emergency contraception kits, writing thank-you notes to donors, or helping spread accurate information about abortion, our volunteers play a crucial role in our advocacy. By mobilizing people to take action, we create a network of support that stands firm in the face of political challenges.

NEAR’s advocacy is also about building resilient, grassroots networks. We host events, share resources, and provide opportunities for people to connect and learn from each other. We know that the best way to protect abortion access is to equip our community with the tools and confidence to support each other. When we come together, we amplify our impact, ensuring that no one has to face barriers to care alone.

At NEAR, our advocacy isn’t just a response to injustice—it’s a commitment to sustaining abortion joy, autonomy, and collective care. We will continue to show up, take action, and fight for a future where everyone has the freedom to make their own reproductive choices. We invite you to join us, volunteer with us, and be part of a movement that believes in the power of community-driven change.
